The game's engine was coded by the best of the best, its data protected by encryption upon encryption. Which made those capable of altering it from the outside powerful individuals. And not everyone agreed with the way Second World was structured, some believing it lacked the ambition and drive that made human life interesting.

That was the story. No one had actually encountered the entity known as "The Programmer." Most thought him a rumor, an avatar that simply glitched out and become a constant error.
